Jaw Surgery

In patients where jaw surgery is recommended to correct the relationships between the jaws:

  • This jaw surgery (osteotomy) is performed with the braces still on
  • Orthodontic appointments are necessary every 2-3 weeks after the osteomy
  • Braces are normally removed 3-6 months after jaw surgery
  • Retention appliances are fitted
  • Observation and monitoring in retention
